Make a Number Museum

Want a simple and engaging way to help your child practice counting? Make a NUMBER MUSEUM. Seriously, couldn’t be simpler.

  1. Set out cards for any numbers you want

  2. Let your child collect groups of objects that are equal to the amount on each card.

Seems simple, right? But there’s BIG MATH here! Where? It’s just counting, right? WRONG! Your child likely spends most of their time counting sets that already exist (such as counting a group of pens and seeing that there are 7 pens). It’s equally important for your child to practice CREATING a set that is equivalent to a number.

  • Make it easier: Work with your child to count each group

  • Make it harder: Use larger numbers
