Guess My Shape

Does your child like to play the game I Spy? Then they’ll love Guess My Shape!

To Play:

  1. Take turns picturing a shape in your head

  2. One player describes the shape using its attributes (I’m picturing a shape with four sides that are equal)

  3. The other player guesses the shape

Why We Love This Game:

  • It’s a fantastic way to expose your child to the practice of visualizing in math. When they get older, they’ll have to visualize word problems. Seeing a shape in their head is a great way to start!

  • It requires NO SUPPLIES OR PREP so it’s a great thing to do when you’re driving in the car, waiting at the doctor’s office or just trying to find a way to fill a couple minutes.

This game is best played when your child already knows how to describe a shape using its attributes.
